Written Troubles of The Brain - Notes from the Scottish Play
While I was working on Scottish play I started a blog to keep note of some of the thoughts I was having through the rehearsal and run. I doubt I made any major discoveries, but it is my own personal journey on this well traveled road.

Sonnets
Well, I have no reason to be ashamed of my love for Shakespeare. So at some point or another I started writing sonnets. Yes, sonnets, in the old verse forms. I love them. They are a kind of a puzzle, and microcosm of my life. Very personal and earnest and pithy I suppose.

Uncle Vanya
I grew up speaking Russian, and then studied it in College, and have since been fortunate enough to employ it in my art. This is my first translation, of any play. I edited it with John Knauss for a production. I remember well, how inspired and excited I felt working on, and it brought me intimately close with the work.

Three Acts of Marital Bliss
I translated these three one-acts, and put them all together into one evening. I have had it produced on two occasions, once on my own, and the second time by Cake Productions and its been quite amazing.

Miss Julie
This started as a lark and grew into a project. I had been dabbling with the play for a number of years in grad school and since then I came back to it rather randomly and was inspired by all the cleverness, irony, wit, and drama I had somehow never quite appreciated before. So I got together a bunch of friends and produced a reading on a midsummer's day at the Living Theater. Jane Pejterson played Miss Julie, and being from Denmark she translated her text from the Swedish. I worked with her, and a whole slew of existing translations to generate my text for Jean, and Gina Bonati did the same for Kristine. Albert Bendix helped us put the whole together, playing the peasants, and the father.

These are songs I've written.

Disclaimer: I am not a professional musician, nor a professional sound engineer. So, cut me some slack. Its entirely an amateur endeavor here, with the love of song writing being the motivation. At some point though, I do want to really work on some skills. In the mean time, I like it for its potential.
